Frazer visits AVK Donkin for Series 555 Gate Valve introduction
The AVK Donkin Series 555 Firesafe Gate Valve was the star of the show during a factory tour and training opportunity for one of AVK UK’s valued distribution partners. 01-04-2025
A delegation of 15 depot managers from Frazer, the leading provider of products and solutions for the infrastructure and utilities sectors, was invited to the AVK Donkin state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
The group received a product demonstration of the Mark 4 Series 555, the latest, updated version of the gas industry-leading valve, and shown the manufacturing process, from assembly to testing, coating to packaging.
The Donkin Series 555 Ductile Iron Softseal Gate Valve has been an industry staple for 50 years, with the latest updates ensuring firesafe certification to +800°C, hydrogen-ready design, new ergonomic features, and a reduction in weight for easier installation while improving sustainability and carbon footprint.
It also has an enhanced strength stainless steel spindle, offering extended service life, while the soft-seal, clear bore wedge gate valve offers the same exceptional performance in the isolation of natural and manufactured gas.
The group were also introduced to the Series 158 PUR coated, clear bore construction valve, used for under pressure connections on gas distribution systems, and the range of mains to meter gas fittings.
